Develop Your Business
|
Your home based internet business must be an
entity that is undergoing continual evolution. Continually review your
products, effectiveness of your web site, skills, tools and operating
costs. Plan your business to to keep abreast of the changing world
around you. Be prepared to modify plans as circumstances alter.
Developing a business means
constant revision of your business plan and continually
looking for new opportunities to add to your business. Keep
tabs on what is profitable. All
products will eventually come to the end of their life cycle. Phase in
new products way before your established lines decline. Know when to
discontinue a product or opportunity and move on.
Develop your business also means develop yourself. Identify where
your weaknesses lie and commit to improve. Train yourself. Expand your
skill set. Don't attempt too much in a short period of time. Examine how
you do things. How can you this or that better? Evaluate where most time
and effort is being expended. Target that for improvement. Once you have
that area mastered move on to the next.
Monitor what is happening in the software world. Have new tools
become available that can assist your operation? Obtain free limited
period trial applications for evaluation. Look out for free tools. Has
software that you previously considered useful but too expensive fallen
in cost over time?
Maintain a keen eye on your operational costs and the services you
are buying. Can you get an equivalent or better level of service for a
lower cost from another provider? Weigh up the potential benefits of
changing supplier?
Look at your website with a critical eye. Pay attention to customer
feedback. What changes are necessary to improve the site? How can you
add more interest? How can you encourage visitors to return? Survey
other sites for ideas and use your imagination.
